TOY RUN CHARITY BACK IN THE SADDLE

UPDATED : Cape Town, Western Cape, Tuesday 02 November 2021

We are 39 this year!! And the Toy Run Cape Town Charity is once again asking for you to show your incredible generosity in these trying times. We welcome donations of toys, gifts and financial support for vulnerable children.

On the advice of our event Safety Officer, we have taken the difficult decision that while the Covid restrictions are still in force, we CANNOT have the actual formal ‘Run’ part of the Toy Run, as we simply don’t have sufficient resources to properly action start venues as needed by the Covid regulations, such as registration and screening, to satisfy the relevant authorities.

Therefore, you can start from anywhere – your nearest bike shop, your club house, the local breakfast venue – just make sure you get to Killarney from 9.30am Sunday 28 November 2021

ENTRY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOY RUN IS FREE but you MUST PLEASE REGISTER online at https://qkt.io/TR2021 in order to say you participated in the Run and be officially recognised as a participant. You do NOT have to purchase anything or pay a ticket price to participate. Unregistered riders will unfortunately not be officially recognized as being on the 2021 Toy Run Cape Town. All registered participants will go into a PRIZE DRAW.

  • ‘Drive Buy’ a badge at the end venue for R30 OR buy online R30 gets you a special badge and collect it at the end venue with your ticket

Last year, we had requests for 14000 toys – that’s FOURTEEN THOUSAND, and were only able to provide just over 4000 gifts. Please help us this year, as more than ever, the children need toys and gifts to provide a small light of hope in these dark times. While many of us are also suffering the effects of the economic downturn brought on by the pandemic and lock down, this is an opportunity for you contribute, even with one small toy or gift.

On SUNDAY 28 November 2021, gates will open to the public at 9.30am at Killarney International Raceway in Table View, the home of motorsport in the Cape. The Toy Run team and volunteers will welcome motorcycle riders and the general public to drop off their donations of toys and gifts throughout the day, until 4pm. The wearing of masks in public is obviously compulsory, but that shouldn’t be difficult for the motorcycling fraternity, which has been riding with helmets, masks and buffs for many years!

A limited edition commemorative badge as well as the normal year plate, as well as Toy Run ‘buffs’ / masks will be on sale and available to purchase, both on the registration website on Quicket, if you want to order online for collection at the end venue, and for a ‘drive-buy’ purchase of memorabilia on the day, for the most unique Toy Run Cape Town so far. To ensure you get a badge, please order online as stocks are limited.

You can also purchase a ‘push-along’ scooter for a child for only R100 (normally around R250) – just pay online and a child will get this gift – as easy as a click! You can also visit the Factory Toy Shop @ 250 Voortrekker Rd Parow and purchase suitable gifts https://www.facebook.com/factorytoyshopcapecc
